ABOUT ME
Hi - I'm Matthew.
I am a multi-instrumentalist composer, conductor, orchestrator/arranger, and sound designer with a keen focus on composition for games, film, television, and other visual media. I write, notate, and produce scores and craft sounds that aim to musically accentuate the stories and visions of others.

While I am most at home creating in the soundworlds of orchestral and ambient music, I thoroughly enjoy writing in various genres and I also specialise in orchestrating and arranging, with a passion for conducting - providing a high standard of quality focused on the inherently unique, bespoke musical voice of each project and helping to connect clients with their desired musical outcomes.

In the field of audio engineering, including recording, mixing, and mastering, I am comfortable working efficiently and purposefully in both live and studio settings and have worked previously with large symphony orchestras, 25-piece big bands, solo instrumental performances, and everything in-between. I am well versed in voiceover and foley recording and have a large library of found sounds, ambiences, and all manner of sound effects, both from the world around me and digitally synthesised.

I graduated from the Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium of Music in late 2020, and studied under Dr. Matt Hitchcock and Doug Roberts (ARIA nominated-winning producer for INXS, John Farnham, Boom Crash Opera, etc.) for Stereo, 5.1 and Ambisonic Audio Mixing and Mastering as well as Recording in Studio and Live environments and Matt Christensen (composer of Superliminal) for Sound Design, Composition & Audio Integration for Games.
This opportunity was a rewarding challenge and taught me a variety of skills, introducing me to, and helping open many career paths within the music industry and also helping to sharpen my abilities as a composer, instrumentalist and audio engineer.
I've since worked on sound design and implementation for AI-powered video games, contributed library music for one of the leading providers of original music for advertising, worked as in-house team composer and audio designer for a multinational innovator in gaming technology, composed the title music for a popular Minecraft overhaul focused on exploration and the impact of choices in a dynamic world, and continued to collaborate with many creatives globally on a variety of art, both visual as well as musical.
I believe that ultimately, music is meant to enthral, to invite an audience into a realm of imagination and reverie - capturing and enhancing their emotions.
With the right music, the reverie does not only captivate, it unfolds into reality.
